About DLR

DLR is the national aeronautics and space research centre of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transport and security is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. In addition to its own research, as Germany’s space agency, DLR has been given responsibility by the federal government for the planning and implementation of the German space programme. Role in the project

DLR is the project coordinator of interACT and responsible for all administration issues and the management of the interACT consortium. Additionally, DLR is coordinating the US/EU twinning activities with US research partners. With regards to scientific content the DLR team is responsible for the scenario and requirements definition (WP1), is involved in the conceptualization and development of the Cooperation and Communication Unit for the interACT vehicles (WP3) and the design of expectation-conform interaction strategies for the automated vehicles. In addition, DLR researchers support the development of novel evaluation methodologies for assessing the quality of cooperative behavior. This methodology will be used for the final evaluation of the interACT vehicles and demonstrators in simulator tests.
