Editorial
interACT is nearing completion in spring 2020. During the last months we have worked intensively on the integration of the demonstrator vehicles of CRF and BMW. Over the summer we installed all external HMI components, completed the user tests and finalized the interaction design and psychological models on human interaction. We are now preparing the final spurt of the project and are working hard on the evaluation studies in driving simulators and in the demonstrator vehicles as well as the organization of the final event. Enjoy the reading of our 4th newsletter, stay tuned for the last projects months and block the 1th April 2020 for the interACT final event in your calendar.

interACT integration workshops

In this project period we met three times at CRF, Turin, Italy to work on the intergration of the Cooperation and Communication planning unit (CCPU). The first meeting took place in May 2019. Its main goal was the technical verification of the CRF vehicle, along with the preparation of the software and hardware components of WP3-5. During the second meeting (22-26 July 2019) the partners focused on the integration of the new SW release of the CCPU modules and data acquisition for test and simulation purposes. After the integration of the eHMI components at HELLA, Germany, during summer (see the article Big steps made towards the full integration of eHMI elements in vehicle demonstrators) we met a third time in October 2019. The main goal for this meeting was the preparation of the automated vehicle (AV) for the needs of the evaluation studies in the framework of WP6 conducted by ITS Leeds and CRF.
